Tansi, my name is Crystal. Some know me as a medicine woman, a herbalist, nature enthusiast and owner of Inspired by Nature, a company that offers natural medicine made from Mother Earth.
I am from Fort Chipewyan, Alberta and I am called "Talk's with the Forest". I am a knowledge keeper of my people, the Athabasca Chipewyan and Mikisew Cree First Nations.
The first four years of my life were spent living on my families trapline on Richardson Lake in the Peace-Athabasca Delta in northern Alberta. This is where my knowledge of plant medicine began. My elders taught me to collect, use and store plants, roots and berries for our daily living. We lived a simple life of fishing, hunting and trapping our food. In the fall of 1982 we moved to "town" Fort. Chipewyan, Alberta so I could attend school. In 2010 my fascination with plant medicine and human anatomy led me to the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing in Calgary, Alberta to further my education. Not only did I learn about the science behind the herbs that I grew up with, but I also had the opportunity to learn about plant medicine from all over the world and I graduated as a Master Herbalist in 2011.
As a Medicine Woman in todays world I am lucky to combine the wisdom handed down to me from my Ancestors and the formal training I received from College. These two complete opposite worlds have come together to allow me to fulfill my purpose.
